Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are officially married! The 40-year-old pop star and the 28-year-old model tied the knot on Thursday at her home in a small ceremony, surrounded by their inner circle. They’ve been dating since 2016.
The couple got married on Thursday in front of a very small, exclusive guest list of only about 60 people in their close circle, according to both TMZ and People . The pop star’s brother Bryan was expected to be there, but her mother Lynne, father Jamie, and sister Jamie Lynn were reportedly not in attendance.
A source tells ET, “Britney and Sam are officially married. Both of them are overjoyed.”
Helping Britney and Sam celebrate the momentous occasion, friends Paris Hilton and Donatella Versace were in attendance.
Spears’ two sons with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline — 16-year-old Sean Preston and 15-year-old Jayden James — also did not attend the wedding. However, Federline’s powerhouse attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told ET in a statement said they wish their mom nothing but the best.
Spears and Asghari first met on the set of her music video “Slumber Party” in October 2016 where they exchanged numbers, but it took another five months for them to actually reconnect. They made their relationship Instagram official a little over a year later on New Year’s Day 2017. In September, after almost five years together, Asghari popped the question with a custom ring designed by Roman Malayev and engraved with his nickname for Spears, “Lioness.”
In April, Spears announced she was pregnant but sadly suffered a miscarriage in May. Despite the devastating news, Asghari is still hopeful that he’ll become a dad one day.
