Cardi B & Missy Elliot Deliver Surprise Performances at American Music Awards 2022
Missy Elliott and Cardi B pulled off epic surprises at the 2022 American Music Awards.
The 51-year-old “Work It” rapper and the 30-year-old “I Like It” hitmaker both took the stage unexpectedly during their collaborators’ performances.
Cardi hopped onstage with GloRilla for their duet version of “Tomorrow,” and Missy joined Anitta for their collab “Lobby.GloRilla, 23, started the performance wearing a sporty yellow bralette paired with matching high-waisted pants and long gloves as she rapped the first half of the song alongside dancers in white versions of her outfit. Cardi B then appeared, coming out of a purple sports car with open doors and wearing a similar outfit to GloRilla’s in baby blue as she performed her verse.
The televised performance marked Cardi B’s first since the death of rapper Takeoff, who was in Migos with Cardi B’s husband, Offset, and Quavo.
