A funeral ceremony was held at Ataşehir Mimar Sinan Mosque for Cengiz Karlı (57),
who has been imprisoned in Tokat Prison for 6 months and died as a result of a heart attack.
Many famous names, including singers Alişan, Yeliz, Ferman Toprak, Cengiz Kurtoğlu and
Bülent Serttaş, attended the funeral.
Karlı bid farewell to his wife of 30 years with tears.
Karlı and her two children shed tears over the coffin. Cengiz Karlı was buried in Kurtköy Cemetery
after the afternoon prayer. Singer Alişan, one of the attendees of the funeral, said:
He was my brother whom I loved very much. I made my first scene
at Cengiz brother’s place. Since then, Elif has been like my sister.
Singer Yeliz said:
The world lost an angel. He tasted death in a place that did not suit him.
