Disney and Pixar have confirmed that an Inside Out sequel is on the way, but not everyone will be returning for the second movie.
Variety reports that the sequel will “feature new emotions and follow Riley as a teenager.
The movie is currently in early production and will be released in summer 2024. Kelsey Mann is directing, Meg LeFauve is writing the screenplay, and Mark Nielsen is producing.
Amy Poehler is set to reprise her role at Joy in Inside Out 2 and she’s reportedly going to make a $5 million payday, according to Puck.
Phyllis Smith is confirmed to reprise her role as Sadness, according to Variety.
Lewis Black is confirmed to reprise his role as Anger, according to Variety.
Mindy Kaling will reportedly not return as Disgust for the sequel due to a pay dispute, according to Puck.
Bill Hader will reportedly not return as Fear for the sequel due to a pay dispute, according to Puck.
